RIP 2 Cent Radio

I know this is late late, but today someone asked me “whatever happened to ya’lls radio show.” so lets take some time to celebrate the small somewhat unnoticed step 2-cent made into radio land.
WBOK local talk radio station reached out to 2-cent to do our own radio show, taking the formula of our TV show and making it talk radio. (educational but entertaining) we did a short run about a month or so, Every saturday from 3-5. Stiggidy steve hosted the show and did a wonderful job and the topics ranged from politics, hip hop, the n-word, to homosexuality. It was a beast of a show. But WBOK targets a much older demographic and things just didn't work out in the long run. But no love was lost we still support WBOK and all the beautiful people over there.

Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Patois: 6th annual New Orleans International Human Rights Film Festival. 2-cent will be screening some new and some of our favorite pieces produced by us.
It starts for 5:30pm at the Zeitgeist Mulit-Disciplinary Arts Center, located on 1618 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd (see map below)
Following our screening, 2-cent will introduce a very special screening of the documentary Crips and Bloods: Made In America, (trailer below) The director will be present for a Q&A session. you dont want to miss this great day of films.

New Updates

Our Site is littered with new updates on almost every page, so take the time out and re-explore and watch the new videos and read the new content. Some BIG things are coming down the pipe. so be patient with us, I know its been awhile since we had a new exciting video. But just know that we are working on something beautiful. Thanks to all our fans and all our supporters!

also a big thanks to all our people at Xavier University, thanks for all the love. We’ve been working with a few classes on a few projects and it has been a great experience for both parties. (check out some of the xavier university student feedback....here)

Freedom Land 2 Year Anniversary

It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 years since we released the ground breaking “Freedom Land” project, I’m still caught off guard every time my Ipod shuffles the song into my playlist. To think about what we accomplished, in retrospect, it’s easier to see how great it was. All those rappers on one song, about that subject. timeless. And I’m not just saying that because I’m a fan of each rapper, or because i toiled with the producers to perfect the beat. or spent weeks working on the music video. I say that because this video represents a time in New Orleans when trivial beefs and turf wars washed away and we all came together with a single voice in response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. And even though its hard for me to find pride in any project I or 2-cent does (because when you do you get complacent), I don’t hesitate to feel good when I hear or see this project. This was truly a N.O. collaboration like no other...

Queens Music Video

Dee-1 is musically what 2-cent is everything else. We connected with him like 3 years back and realized that we were on the same mission, so the collaboration list with us and Dee-1 is long. I mean, I don’t even like to think of it as collaborations anymore, I look at it like Dee-1 is a part of the 2-cent team and family.
This is the music video to “Queens” the first single of Dee-1’s upcoming first album “David & Goliath.” Of course we had to do the video, and it was an honor to feature women in the just light they deserve... so check it out, plus the behind the scene video, and a video I did with Dee-1 back in the G. enjoy
